Who we are

barburs is a directory and booking service for barbershops, based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@barburs.com.

What barburs does, and does not do

We put you in touch with a barbershop and pass your booking to it. We do not cut hair, we do not employ barbers, and we are not a party to the appointment. The contract for the cut is between you and the shop.

The shop sets its own prices, keeps its own diary and decides its own cancellation policy. If something goes wrong with an appointment, the shop is responsible for putting it right — though we would still like to hear about it.

Booking

• A booking is confirmed when the shop confirms it, not when you submit it.
• You give a name and a contact number so the shop can reach you. Both are passed to that shop.
• Turn up, or tell the shop you cannot. Repeatedly booking and not arriving is a reason for us to stop taking your bookings.

Paying

You pay the shop. Where a shop takes payment through barburs, that payment goes to the shop’s own Stripe account; we never hold your money. Refunds are the shop’s to give.

Shops and barbers pay us 20p per booking taken through barburs, and Stripe charges its own card processing fee on the payment at its published rate. There is no monthly fee, no setup fee, no commission on the price of a cut and no minimum term.

Listings and clips

Some shops are listed from public records and have not been claimed. An unclaimed listing carries the shop’s name, area and opening hours and nothing else, and it cannot take a booking. If a shop is yours, you can claim it, correct it, or ask us to remove it.

Clips belong to the barber who posted them. By posting, a barber gives us permission to show that clip on barburs and to use it to promote barburs. Do not post work that is not yours, and do not post a client without their agreement.

Using the service properly

Do not scrape the directory, do not post anything unlawful or abusive, and do not impersonate a shop or a barber. We can suspend an account that does.

Liability

We do our best to keep listings accurate, but prices, hours and availability come from the shops and can be out of date. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales.

Changes

We will update these terms as the service changes, and the date at the top will say when. Carrying on using barburs after a change means you accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
